While the world bid goodbye to 2011 and rejoiced on the arrival of the most hyped 2012, James Durbin, the celebrated musician, has more than one reason to be delighted about.

The American Idol season 10 participant welcomed not only 2012, but a new life with his newly-wedded wife and 2-year-old son.

The star tied the knot with his longtime sweetheart Heidi Lowe. The sacred union took place at the stars’ hometown Santa Cruz, California.

The love-struck couple exchanged the rings in the presence of 85 guests, and made a promise to be by each other’s side forever.

Their guests list included the American Idol mates of Durbin, and Stefano Langone, Casey Abrahams and Haley Reinhart as well. Their presence certainly expresses their deep friendship with the guy, who gave them tough competition.

The hard-to-defeat Durbin is not only a rock singer, but a fabulous guitar player as well. The young stars’ journey in one of the top ranking shows started with the audition in San Francisco, as he won over the judges with his amazing performance of the song Muddy Waters’ You Shook Me and Aerosmith’s Dream on.

The unbeatable star finished at the fourth place on the tenth season of the show, making a memorable exception. For the first time in the history of the most watched show, the exceptionally talented musician was given a celebrated homecoming, which was only reserved for the Top 3 American Idol participants.

Following his elimination, Durbin got massive recognition and opportunities. With the good luck striking his destiny, the man finally decided to settle down with his beautiful girlfriend and son, Hunter, who served as a ring bearer on their wedding.
