Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson, are the proud parents of a gorgeous daughter, whom they have named Maxwell Drew Johnson. The entire family is evidently elated, just as are fans of the famous singer. After all, with the legacy that she has stepped in, with famous parents, and a famous grandmother, Tina Simpson, Maxwell is going to be one lucky baby!
The family has been close-knit through the entire pregnancy, and even gathered for a group breakfast hours before the baby’s birth. Weighing 9 lbs. 13 oz., baby Maxwell was born at the Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. hospital in the wee hours, and measured a healthy 21 3/4 inches. Jessica’s mother, sister, Ashlee Simpson, and her fiancé were all present at the time of birth.
Jessica, who has been a famous TV personality, with appearances on shows like That 70’s Show, was understandably delighted about the pregnancy. She took on to the public forum of Twitter to announce the birth, saying that they were grateful for all the love, support, and prayers that they had been received. She also added that it is has been the “greatest experience” of their lives.
As for the rather odd choice of name for the baby, it has been chosen for her to have an element of both her parents. While Maxwell is her father’s middle name, Drew is Jessica’s mother’s maiden name.
Talking of her sister’s joy, Ashlee Simpson, who has been a musical judge on Saturday Night Live, said that Jessica had wanted to be a mother since she was a little girl, and that she is very happy for her and Eric.
Meanwhile, Jessica, who has made no qualms about indulging in all her pregnancy cravings, doesn’t seem to be worried about the weight gain. It is rumored that she has a perfect weight loss plan in place, and might even be the next face of Weight Watchers!
