Spontaneity is one of those things in life that can be as bad as they are good, depending on how and when you choose to use them. Jennifer Love Hewitt, of Ghost Whisperer fame, seems to have learnt her lesson the difficult way, as she went public about her crush on Adam Levine.

Jennifer, who is single after her recent split with Jarod Einsohn, made the confession on an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She revealed that she is on the lookout for a perfect partner, and after reading about Adam Levine’s breakup with his model girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna, thought that he might be the one for her.

The news went viral, and before she knew it, everyone was talking about her feelings for Adam. What might have seemed as a harmless admittance at that point, suddenly turned out to be a decision that she regretted, as nasty comments began to flow in.

Adam Levine, who is popular as one of the mentors on The Voice, made things even more difficult for Hewitt when he was interviewed by Ellen. He remarked that her confession was “aggressive,” and that even though he thinks that it was a bit too “forward,” he was flattered to know that such a beautiful woman was attracted to him.

Mortified by the lukewarm response, Hewitt took to the public forum of Twitter to say that she felt like a total fool after what had happened. She went on to get back at Levine sarcastically, thanking him for “being so gracious” on his interview, and concluding by saying that she has learnt a lesson.
