Extremely popular in the UK, The X Factor is a reality television series, offering a grand platform to aspiring singers to showcase their talent. ‘X’ in the series’ title stresses that one has to have that something extra to walk away as the final victor. Now, the US version of this show will begin to air in September 2011. Both solo vocalists and groups can try out their luck during the auditions. The X Factor will differ from rival reality shows like American Idol in more ways than one. With no age limit for participation, anyone aspiring to make it big in the music industry can hope to get an instant ticket to fame. A special category as per participants’ sex, age group or type of performance (solo or group) will be assigned to each judge. Besides critically analyzing the contestants’ performance, the judges will act as their mentors by offering tips on ideal song choice, appropriate styling etc. While Simon and Antonio “L.A.” Reid are almost guaranteed to constitute the judging panel, there has been an air of mystery surrounding the third judge, who will join them on the series. Also pending is the decision, that who will host the show. Reportedly, Simon is willing to have both male and female to fill this slot. With UK version of The X Factor having unleashed singing sensations like Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Joe McElderry, Leon Jackson, Shayne Ward and Steve Brookstein, now it’s America’s turn to discover the cream among the crop. For those who love to enliven their 24-hours with the soulful music and invigorating lyrics, The X-factor is the show to watch, for it’s an unprecedented music-factory offering fresh talent to the industry. | |||||||||||||||
