True Blood

An Alan Bell’s creation, ‘True blood’ is based on the novels of Charlaine Harris and revolves around Vampires. It was aired on September 7, 2008 on HBO and became a smash hit. Its first season received several acclaims and bagged some prizes as well, including Golden Globe and Emmy. It is the popularity of this show that it is still running successfully in its third season. The fourth season also promises to be an absolute hit.

The series is a cult-show in terms of pumping the adrenalin. It revolves around a small-town waitress Sookie Stackhouse (played by Anna Paquin) in Louisiana. She can read minds of people. But, she cannot read minds of vampires. This becomes evident, when she falls in love with Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer), who is actually a 173 years old vampire.

The vampires have come out of the coffins, as they wish to create their own position in the human society. This is due to the fact that they have been injected by manufactured blood and this mixes their presence with the mankind. There is an Anti-vampire society which is against the vampire’s existence and it tries too hard to keep the vampires at bay.

The combo of humans and vampires co-existing in the same domain is rather a startling portrayal, which might send chills down your spine. It has been elaborated in a great manner and nowhere the story loses its grip.

Similarly, two mentionable characters also walk in tandem with the changing scenarios. These include Sookie’s best friend Tara Thompton (Rutina Wesley) and her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), who play instrumental roles as every episode pans out.

There are many twists, when Tara finds something awkward about Sam and love angles among the characters. The characters, storyline etc creates a great combination of horror and supernatural powers.

Right from the first episode to the current season’s episodes, it has been an entertaining voyage and it is believed that many new happenings would make it better in the subsequent episodes. It really lives on the thrilling scale and, is a great treat to all the fans.
