‘The Simpsons’ is longest running animated comedy show on American Television. The series is created by Matt Groening, for Fox Broadcast Company, and is co-produced by Matt Groening, Al Jean, James L. Brooks and Sam Simon.

The Simpsons basically revolves around the Simpson family and the problems that they generally get into. The Simpson family consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Seeing the Simpson family in a mess, the audiences just can’t stop laughing.

Homer, the head of the family is a dull-witted, lazy, beer-loving and unhealthy, but loving man. Marge, his wife, is a hardworking and dutiful housewife. They have three children. Their eldest son, Bart, is a nice kid, but is more interested in playing pranks and getting in trouble. Next is their eight year old daughter, Lisa, who is a brilliant child and is neglected at home and at school because of this. Maggie is their youngest child, who is an infant and is quite popular because of her red pacifier.

The Simpsons is quite popular because of it unusual sense of comedy. The series, till date, has been nominated for a minimum of 105 different awards, including a Golden Globe and seventeen Emmy Awards.
