A hair-raising creation of Grant Scharbo and Richard Hatem, The Gates focuses on a mystery-draped suburban community, where several things are far from usual. This affluent community has many untold truths, which if popped-out, can unleash an atmosphere of sheer fright and chills. While being busy on a case that involves tracing the whereabouts of a missing person, Nick encounters the horror that is hiding behind the well-designed houses and smooth-gleaming streets. His patrols bring him face to face with Claire Radcliffe (Rhona Mitra), a homemaker feeling turned off by the mundane life. However, there is a bone-chilling aspect to her personality. She simply loves to get the saliva dripping from her taste buds by cooking the flesh of her unfortunate victims. Her vampire-husband is equally freaky, being an admirer of his wife’s culinary abilities. Unfortunately, these are not the only individuals, spelling danger on him. Among others, ready to direct fear at him are a werewolf named Brett Crezski and Liegh Tuner, who stores her heart in a glass case. The show is popular for keeping the viewers in an anticipation-mode, with something thrilling embedded in various junctures, in its storyline. It offers a balanced focus to the teenaged and adult characters. Moreover, the central character Nick steals away a major part of the viewer-attention, as a stranger wandering in a strange location. All in all, The Gates is an engaging show to fill the leisure with non-stop excitement! | |||||||||||||||||
