The United States anime TV show, The Boondocks has been conceived by Aaron McGruder who has already created a famous comic series which is a namesake of the show. The series is broadcasted by Cartoon Network by Turner Broadcasting in the Adult Swim programming section.

The Boondocks, in a light funny manner tackles the American social issues as to how the people are so stereotyped these days. This the show does through the three members of the Freeman family, which has Robert, the grandfather of two brothers as the patriarch. Riley, his younger grandson is aged eight and the elder one, named Huey is ten years old.

The show was first aired on 6th November, 2005 and with fifteen episodes in all, it culminated on 19th March, 2006. Another one kick started on 8th October, 2007 and ended with fifteen episodes. The next season is being produced in Korea and is slated for a release in the first half of 2010.

The production of the show has been undertaken by Rebel Base in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television.
