The Biggest Loser is a reality show, one of its own kinds. The Biggest Loser premiered on October 19, 2004. The series is created by Dave Broome.
The basic premise of the show consists of losing maximum weight on the show. People who are extremely over weight are brought to the show and the one, who loses the highest percentage of their starting body weight, by the end of the show, gets the prize money of $250,000. At the beginning of the season the contenders are generally divided into groups, and are assigned trainers, who help them with their comprehensive workout plans and nutrition plans. Then it is up to the contestants to follow their set plan. By the end of each week one contestant who has lost minimum amount of weight is eliminated and sent home.
