Rescue Me is a dark comedy, which showcases incidents based on the personal and professional life of a fictitious firefighting clique. The series shows the rebellious, traumatic and audacious side of Tommy Gavin (Denis Leary), who is recovering from the trauma of 9/11 incident. He loses his cousin in the 9/11 attack.

The show has pleased the audience as well as the critics, for its remarkable projection of Tommy Gavin; who bravely fights his professional and personal insecurities and issues. To aggravate the situation, he undergoes separation from him.

In addition to this, the terrible events associated with 9/11 episode haunt him regularly and to lessen his troubles, he shares his thoughts with the spirit of his deceased cousin.

Rescue Me series has seen Tommy’s life going through terrible changes. Season 1 focused on the clashes that take place in his life, at personal and professional front. He fights his destiny to bring back his wife, Janet Gavin (Andrea Roth), and their children. This season concluded with Tommy’s disappointment with his professional life, subsequently getting fired from his job.

In the second season of this engaging dramedy, his focus shifts to his family. This season saw him uniting with his wife, but for a short time. It ends with the death of his son, Connor (Trevor Heins). After putting the blame of Connor’s death on Tommy, his wife leaves him!

Life becomes terrible for Tommy, when he comes to know about the romantic relation of his wife with his own brother, Johnny. In season 3, 4 and 5, Tommy’s life takes several twists, and he gets a chance to explore his own romantic and emotional world.

At the end of season 4, Tommy loses his father. Season 6 brought another surprise with the near-death experience of Tommy!

All in all, Rescue Me is not just an adventurous journey of Tommy; it’s more about bringing to the audiences a man with an undying spirit!
