Raising Hope debuted on September 21, 2010 and it airs on FOX channel. The show is created by Greg Garcia and is produced by Henry J. Lange Jr. It is a single camera comedy show, which is ready to broadcast its second season.

The show is about a 23 year old guy, who has a little daughter named Hope and it is all about how he raises her. If he would have been prepared for it or if the mother of the baby would be supporting him, then things would definitely have been easier. However, the baby is a result of a one night stand and the mother is no more in the world. So, James "Jimmy" Chance, who is Hope's father, has to hold all the responsibilities of his daughter alone.

The mother of Hope murdered many of her boyfriends. Therefore, she was put to death because of the crimes that she committed, which eventually headed all the responsibilities of the child on Jimmy, who actually knows nothing about raising a child. Jimmy was unaware of the killings done by Lucy, Hope’s mother. He became aware of this facet of Lucy when she got arrested for her crimes. Hope was six months old, when her mother left her alone in the world. Jimmy certainly knows nothing about raising a child, but he will get to know it with time, thanks to the support of his mother Virginia Chance and his father Burt Chance.

Virginia gave birth to Jimmy when she was in her teen age. So, she is a better guide for Jimmy to bring up little Hope. Even Jimmy’s father was not an adult when Virginia conceived their baby but they very well did their part. It is now Jimmy’s turn to make a wonderful world for his daughter. But before that, he must learn some basics about raising a baby.
