Numb3rs is one of the small screen thrillers, which gave a new definition to the police procedural shows. The life-blood of this hit show is the characterization. Throughout all the seasons, the events surrounding the main characters, managed to catapult a mixed bag of edge-of-the-seat entertainment. FBI agent Don Eppes ushers a new life in crime investigation, and it all becomes possible because of his smart brother Charlie Eppes. Being a gifted guy and employed as a professor in California Institute of Science, Charlie has an impeccable knack of solving an issue with the help of mathematical analysis. As a matter of fact, he utilizes his skill in helping out the FBI officials, including his brother Don. The main conflict of the storyline pops up from the incredible alliance of the two brothers in unearthing the mystery behind innumerable baffling crimes. While conceptualizing the story arcs of every season, the show makers primarily focused on the following elements: crime investigation, mathematics and the Eppes family. However, it is sheer brilliance on the part of Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton, by which the two succeeded in interweaving all the elements in a well-balanced manner. The premiere season mainly focused on the formative relationship of genius mathematician and the team of crime investigators, and once the FBI is convinced with the inherent talent of Charlie, the real adventure kicks-off. The rest of the seasons invariably trace the spine-chilling fact-finding spree involving Charlie, his detective brother and the FBI. The character of protagonist is played by David Krumholtz, while actor Rob Morrow portrayed the role of his character’s brother. In addition to giving an insight into how crime investigation is possible through mathematical analysis, the show also brings to limelight, the daily life of the members of the Eppes family. Ever since Numb3rs made its debut, it managed to steal the attention of suspense lovers all over the world because of the out-of-the-box amalgamation of elements of thriller and police procedural. | |||||||||||||||||
