The famed anime show, InuYasha has been adapted from the starting 36 volumes of the manga series of the same name. This series has been produced in Japan by Sunrise and on 16th October, 2000 it was launched on the Animax network. The show had a successful one hundred and sixty seven episodes run after which it ended on 13th September, 2004. In the North American regions, Viz Media has gained the license for the dubbed adaption of the series in the English language. On the Adult Swim program section of Cartoon Network, the English version of InuYasha was launched on 31st August, 2002 up till 27th October, 2006.

InuYasha is all about Kagome Higurashi, a high school girl who rewinds back to the Japanese’s ancient time period of Sengoku. Here she comes across InuYasha, a half-demon and subsequently finds out that she in actuality is the re-birth version of Kikyo, a very influential priestess. A team is soon formed with a demon killer, a youthful fox demon, an unchaste monk and a demonic cat. They all have a mission to locate the parts of the battered Jewel of Four Souls which is a very potent jewel and previously was sneaked out inside the body of Kagome. Also, they have to make sure that the bad forces don’t use the pieces for their advantage, especially Naraku, the wicked, half – demon who had been responsible for Kikyo’s death, about half a century before Kagome emerged.
