‘How I Met Your Mother’ is a comedy drama that premiered on September 19, 2005 on CBS. The show has a very different and unique concept, which is one major reason for its popularity. The events of the series are set in 2030, and most of the episodes are shown in a flashback.
The basic premise of the series revolves around Ted Mosby, father of two children, who decides to tell his children, the story of how he met their mother. So he goes back in time revealing the incidents of his life, when he was young, and how he went in search for his true love. But who actually is the mother of his children and his wife, no one knows.
The series, till date, has completed four seasons, and no hints are given about the mother. ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. The major characters in the series are Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), Marshall (Jason Segel), Lily (Alyson Hannigan), Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders).
