The credit for the idea to create the Hard Knocks series goes to Marty Callner. The foundation of this show, which takes its inspiration from real life, was laid by NFL Films, in collaboration with HBO. The National Football League, as we all know, is the most popular one in American football. And a show which comes from the insiders is sure to show content which is purely genuine.

Hard Knocks is all about the different NFL teams. Their strategies, their preparations, recruitments and dropping of players from squads; the series shows it all. And it does not stick to only one team. In each and every season of the series since its launch, Hard Knocks has covered a different team.
Taking its first step towards delivering real life entertainment, Hard Knocks featured the team Baltimore Ravens in its first season in 2001. This was followed by the coverage of Dallas Cowboys, and then by the coverage of Kansas City Chiefs in 2007.

The series went on to show the major changes that the team Dallas Cowboys has gone through in the year 2008. This is the only team that has been a part of the series more than once.
In the year 2009, the series highlighted the events surrounding both the professional as well as the personal lives of the players of the team Cincinnati Bengals.

In the latest season, which was the sixth season of the series, Hard Knocks entertained the viewers yet again by focussing on the team New York Jets. Their coach’s peculiar style of training the players was one thing on which a lot of emphasis was laid. The season also showed comeback stories of a couple of members of the team.

Giving an in depth view into these teams, Hard Knocks has, undoubtedly, become every football fan’s favourite show. In addition, the show has also been successful in attracting a number of viewers who were not much of football enthusiasts.
