Hats off to Jaime Paglia and Andrew Cosby for creating the mind boggling series Eureka, which has taken the whole theme of science fiction to an all together new level. A theme which is ventured into quite often, but rarely explored to the core so efficiently, sci-fi, as we call it, is loved by many all over the world. To all those, Eureka comes as a blessing in disguise. Eureka is set in the town of Eureka, an imaginative place which is inhabited by the world’s finest brains. These people have mastered the field of science and technology to such an extent, that the credit for all the inventions in the recent past goes to them. The town is under the control of the local sheriff, Jack Carter, a character played by Colin Ferguson. Now, Jack has an interesting background story of his own. The story of the series Eureka saw Jack taking over as the sheriff of the town when the previous sheriff was injured by one of the experiments of a scientist. He was a policeman in the past, and the way he took up the responsibilities when the sheriff was injured made him the obvious choice as the former sheriff’s successor. Unlike the others surrounding him, he is not much of a techie or a science geek. On the contrary, he is blessed with wisdom and worldly knowledge. He bonds well with almost anyone and everyone, making his work as a sheriff, both effective as well as efficient. He saves the world with the assistance of the scientists of Eureka whenever the world faces a threat from anything. Jack’s personal life, however, is not as smooth as his professional life. He is seen struggling to deal with his delinquent daughter Zoe, whom, he sends to her mother in order to avoid neglecting his work. Overall, Eureka blends this science fiction with elements of comedy and drama with perfection, delivering to the viewers an incredible show to watch out for. | |||||||||||||||||
