Dexter is a crime drama series that premiered on the Showtime on 1st October 2006. The series revolves around the life of Dexter Morgan, who works in the forensic department of the Miami Metro Police Department. Life for Dexter Morgan is perfect one, with a sister to look after and a steady girlfriend. The only thing that is not perfect in his life is that he hides a dark secret from all.
No one in the world, except for him, knows that he is a killer, definitely a killer of a different sort and the one who kills with a purpose. Dexter has disciplined this killing thing from his foster father Harry, and kills only the ones, who have escaped justice by unfair means and roam around in the world freely. Dexter plans his killings very wisely, so that none can catch him, and turns his plans to actions only at night and leads a very normal life during daytime.
Dexter is based on the novels, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter and Dexter in the Dark, which were written by Jeff Lindsay. Though the television version is quite different from the novels, it is loosely based on the novels.
