The famous supernatural horror drama show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, reigned on the American television from 10th March, 1997 up till, 20th May, 2003. Joss Whedon gave birth to this idea, in 1997 and besides direction and writing, even handled the production of the show through his banner, Mutant Enemy Productions. Afterwards, David Fury, Marti Noxon and Jane Espenson joined as executive producers as well.
The show is all about life and times of Buffy Summers (character enacted by Sarah Michelle Gellar) who is the next girl in the array of young females who are called Slayers and are picked up by destiny to fight out demons, evil and vampires along with all the dark forces. As it happens with every Slayer, Buffy too has a Watcher, who coaches her, mentors her and exercises her. But it does not happen with every Slayer that they have a hugely close friends group as it happens with Buffy and her friends’ gang is commonly referred to as ‘Scooby Gang’.
Such has been the popularity of the show that the Time magazine listed it in its 100 Best TV Shows of All time list. The show has been nominated for several awards and honors, including the Golden Globe and the Emmy Awards. Though the show ended but its sequel, Angel continued to charm the audiences like its predecessor.
