The reality TV series, Big Brother is the Americanized adaptation of a Dutch TV show of the same name, which was made up by John de Mol in the year 1997. The basic concept of the show revolves around a bunch of unfamiliar people, known as HouseGuests, who have to reside with each other, for around three months, in a secluded house, which is called the Big Brother House. The HouseGuests undergo a round the clock, very close camera scrutiny, guaranteeing zero privacy. The contestants are completely unaware of sense of time and all that is happening around the world, as no outside contact is allowed during the show. Till date, in all the ten season of Big Brother, about one hundred and eighteen people have participated in this hugely popular show. The House Guests compete for the prize money, which is a whooping $500,000. For winning the same, they have to protect themselves from evictions being held every week and remain in the house up till the end. The show is hosted by Julie Chen while Rich Meehan and Allison Grodner, hold the production charge.
