Placed in the physical world made up of four nations, human civilization in Avatar: The Last Airbender, is the figment of an extraordinary imagination. The Water Tribe, The Fire Nation, The Air Nomads and The Earth Kingdom are all united by their respective Benders, who ensure unity and maintain harmony among themselves. The supreme power lies in the hands of the Avatar, who has the combined abilities and skills of all the nations’ benders. The season begins with Aang’s learning about his Avatar form. He descends from the Air Nomads nation and is being pursued by Fire Lord Sozin. The entire inhabitants of Air Nomads have been obliterated by Fire Lord Sozin, who forcefully took over the position of Fire Lord previously acquired by Ozai. Spread over three seasons, Avatar: The Last Airbender showcases Aang’s training in the bending arts of all the four nations, so that he can defeat Sozin, and save the rest of the nations from his attack. During the journey, he is helped by Katara who is also his love; Sokka, a warrior and brother to Katara, and many other warriors and teachers from other nations. Earlier in the series, Aang was pursued by Prince Zuko because Zuko needed to capture Aang if he was to regain his honor and crown in the Fire Nation. But in season 3, Prince Zuko joins hands with Aang in his journey to defeat Sozin. Aang sets out to use the shortly arriving Solar Eclipse as the time when he would invade the Fire Nation, as during that period, the benders of Fire Nation would be deprived of their capabilities. The final battle brought everyone on the same stage and anything was possible. Aang enters his Avatar State and by using the energy-bending technique, is able to defeat Sozin. Zuko gets his owner and position of Fire Lord again, and Aang and others return to their respective nations. | |||||||||||||||
