The American TV show, Angel is an off – shoot of the famous supernatural drama show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Joss Whedon, the brains behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer, created this show along with David Greenwalt. This show was premiered on 5th October, 1999. Mutant Enemy, the production firm that had been created by Whedon for producing Buffy the Vampire Slayer, also produced this series.

The show is all about the tribulations in the lives of Angel who is a vampire but with a human soul as this was given back to him by gypsies to make him repent for slaying a member of their clan. Now for about a hundred years, Angel has killed and brutalized several innocent people and now that he has a soul who tortures him for his past deeds. For first four seasons of the series, Angel takes up a private detective’s job in the fictional adaptation of Los Angeles in California. Here he works with a group whose various members help him to provide aid those who need their help, to restore their faith and those who have wandered off their paths they salvage their souls for them. Usually, all this means battling with the bad demons or those humans who have become evil. Most of these always have some sort of connection with a law company called Wolfram & Hart. But most of all, Angel has to fight out with his inner demons, that continue to haunt him.
